Verbier Resort Restaurants

If you fancy a change from your Verbier ski chalet or hotel, there is an excellent range of restaurants on offer. For a special occasion, head to Cordée des Alpes. Another long-standing favourite is La Grange, renowned for its superb grilled meats, seasonal dishes and extensive wine list.

For something a little more affordable, Fer à Cheval remains one of Verbier's most popular restaurants, serving excellent pizzas, salads and grilled dishes in a lively atmosphere. Le Caveau is the place to experience traditional Valais cuisine.

Steak lovers should make a beeline for Le Millenium (El Toro Negro), where the steaks have an excellent reputation. Relais des Neiges is also worth trying. For breakfast, brunch or a quick lunch, Offshore Café at the foot of the Médran lift is one of the resort's most popular meeting spots, famous for its generous portions and relaxed atmosphere.

Verbier Mountain Restaurants

Verbier's mountain restaurants can become busy during peak periods, but there are some real gems worth seeking out. The Savoleyres sector offers some of the best mountain dining, try La Vache and Le Namasté.

On the Médran side, Le Dahu is one of the most popular lunch stops. For a more authentic alpine experience, Chez Dany remains a firm favourite. Hidden away in the hamlet of Clambin, this restaurant is well worth booking ahead.

Those venturing further across the 4 Vallées should consider stopping at Les Chottes, a characterful converted barn serving hearty mountain food, while adventurous skiers can seek out Cabane Tortin, one of the highest and most remote mountain huts in the ski area. Other long-standing favourites include La Marmotte, Les Ruinettes, Le Carrefour and Le Hameau de Tortin.

Verbier Apres Ski

Après is almost essential before returning to your Verbier chalet or hotel. Verbier's après scene remains one of the best in Switzerland, although it is rarely cheap.

Le Farinet is still the undisputed centre of the action, with its famous terrace live bands drawing huge crowds from late afternoon onwards. By 5pm, the terrace is often packed with skiers dancing on tables.

Pub Mont Fort remains popular with the British crowd and gets increasingly lively as the evening progresses. Other favourites include The Nelson Pub, Big Ben Pub, Crock No Name, Fer à Cheval and the bars around Place Centrale. If you're looking for something different after skiing, ice karting remains one of Verbier's more unusual activities.

Verbier Nightlife

Verbier's nightlife is every bit as lively as its après. The legendary Farm Club remains the most famous nightclub and has long attracted celebrities, professional athletes and wealthy visitors from across Europe. It is undeniably expensive.

Casbah offers a more relaxed atmosphere and slightly less eye-watering prices, while Farinet Lounge often keeps the party going into the night. Most of the resort's nightlife is centred around Place Centrale, making it easy to move between bars and clubs throughout the evening before heading back to your chalet or hotel. Verbier has a few taxi companies, in case you can't walk back to your hotel or chalet. But bear in mind that many chalets in Verbier offer a driver service!
