Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Reliable deep snow, especially in January and February
  • Night skiing is well developed in Niseko and offers a long ski day
  • Good food and a wide array of accommodation options including luxury hotels
  • Polite gracious locals

Cons

  • Large hotels are somewhat charmless
  • Lack of things to do away from the skiing
  • Bad weather can last for weeks (but this is great news for the powder hounds)
