Champagny-en-Vanoise
Traditional family village style ski resort with direct link to the Paradiski ski area
Champagny en Vanoise resort guide - a general overview
Champagny-en-Vanoise is a traditional Savoyard village resort with direct links to the La Plagne, and wider Paradiski, ski domain. It makes an excellent good value 'backdoor' connection into one of the largest and highest ski areas of the Alps and should not be overlooked for a quieter family ski resort.
The resort centre sits at 1,250 metres altitude on the sunny south facing side of the Courchevel Valley but has good snow making facilities to ensure the home returning pistes stay open late into April. With access to the high snow-sure ski domain of La Plagne and Les Arcs there is always great skiing to be had from Champagny-en-Vanoise.
The village is best suited to families but there are more than enough shops, bars and restaurants to en-sure a 'resort' atmosphere. The old baroque church and traditional mountain architecture of the centre make for a charming winter ski destination.
Sitting within the Vanoise National Park there are no less than 30km of marked cross-country ski trails that wind their way through the beautiful, wooded valley.
