Overview
The Le K2 Altitude in Courchevel 1850 is the new name for the totally refurbished and equipped former Hotel Kilimandjaro. As part of the rebranding process the world famous Le K2 Hotel, which is also owned by the Capezzone and Fink families, will be re-named Le K2 Palace. These two hotels will set the bar for luxury hotels in Courchevel 1850 just that little bit higher.
Le K2 Altitude re-opened in December 2016 after a year of renovation and remodelling. Walls have been knocked down and internal spaces redesigned. All the bedrooms have been refurbished and styled but will continue with the intimate atmosphere inspired by the Savoyard hamlet style of architecture. The old hotel will retain its soul but will be catapulted into a bright new age of hotel design to reflect the core brand values of the K-Collection - "absolute perfection within a contemporary setting".
There are three restaurants: The Cima where half board guests are served dinner; The Base Kamp, an exceptional south-facing terrace with lounge areas and fire pit; and The Montgomerie 2 Michelin starred restaurant. In 2019 the hotel opened the restaurant L'Altiplano which offers diners a Peruvian culinary journey. There is also the main bar, Le 1856 and the cigar lounge, Le Churchill Klub. For evening entertainment there is the K'Baret theatre and Kid's World.
The 23 luxury bedrooms and 9 suites offer luxurious hotel living in sizes ranging from 27 - 85 square metres and the crowning jewel will be the most prestigious suite that offers 133 square metres of alpine opulence. Guests will be "soothed by the colour palette of purples, reds and orange tones and will be surrounded by accents of spruce and glowing blue trimmed alpine stones".
6 x executive rooms, 8 x superior rooms, 9 x junior suites, 6 x suites (65sqm), 2 x family suites and 1 x 'altitude suite' (133sqm).
With its ski in ski out location on the Pralong piste above the centre of Courchevel 1850, its on-site ski equipment shop and a whole universe dedicated to children the Le K2 Altitude will especially appeal to families.
Surely the K2 Altitude is one of the most desirable luxury alpine hotels to stay in.
