Traditional chalet with character and large, well proportioned rooms.

Chalet Les Arolles in Tignes is a traditionally designed Savoyard property with excellent features. It has recently been refurbished to excellent effect. All the bedrooms are en-suite and fitted with either a multi-jet shower or hydro massage bath. In addition they all have flat screen TV/DVD as well as built in speakers for MP3 players.

The chalet has a beautiful setting in Tignes Le Lac, affording excellent views to the Toviere ridge (beautifully lit at night), the La Grande Motte glacier and across the lake to Val Claret.

Please note that children less than 13 years of age are not accepted into shared chalets outside of peak weeks (Christmas, New Year, Half Term and Easter) unless the party books the chalet for sole occupancy.

Alpine Answers say...

Judging by the great previous guest's comments our input isn't really needed on this one. However, all we can say is that despite Tignes' unfortuante reputation for not being the prettiest resort in the Alps, this chalet surpasses most chalets in the more popular resorts. It's traditional in style yet still spacious, and after a day exploring some of the best pistes in Europe you can ski right back to the door.

Client Comments

" The staff were excellent - really helpful and friendly. Bent over backwards to help out. Lovely chalet in really good position. Good sized rooms and posh bathrooms! Only criticisms; water kept going hot/cold when in shower and dining room a bit small for 16. I am nit picking though! Sam (Alpine Answers) was outstanding. He knew a lot about the area and the chalet and was so much more helpful than any of the other places we were looking at. "

Mrs J W

" The staff at Tignes could in no way be faulted. They were courteous, informative, attentive to our needs and clearly very well trained in their treatment and approach to their clients. They made a most positive contribution to the enjoyment we all experienced during our week's stay in Tignes. The quality of the chalet was of a very high order. We were all very comfortable in our rooms, well satisfied with the facilities in the chalet and greatly impressed by the extremely high standard of the catering, every day, during our stay. The facilities for both skiers and non-skiers were excellent. We were lucky in that it snowed every day of our stay, making for very good skiing and boarding conditions. All the other general skiing and social facilities in and around Tignes were very good indeed. We all returned safely from Tignes after a blemish free week's holiday. I'm unaware of a single adverse comment made by any of the 16 members of my family, aged between 11 and 74, who spent a very happy time skiing and boarding the snowy slopes of the Tignes and Val d'Isere area. A truly lovely holiday. "

Mr R P

" The resort staff were outstanding. Ellie and John, our chalet hosts, were absolutely excellent - the chalet was clean; the food superb and they did a brilliant job. We didn't use the hosting, so can't comment on that and the resort manager wasn't really needed, as the chalets hosts were so good. Chalet Arolles was a nice chalet - we particularly liked the separate sitting room and the dining room, and with TVs in the each bedroom rather than in the sitting room, everyone talked and socialised more. "
