In December 2013 the new Hornli-Urdenfurggli gongola/cable car opened which linked the two ski resorts of Lenzerheide (155km) and Arosa (70km). This gives skiers a combined area of 225km making the combined resorts the largest ski area of the Graubunden canton of Switzerland. Lenzerheide is by...

Les Crosets is a very small resort set on the sunny plateau above Champery. At nearly 1,700 metres altitude it has a great snow record and being small just about all the accommodation in this micro-resort gives ski in ski out access to the gentle skiing of the surrounding area. This makes Les Cro...

Les Diablerets is a quiet resort that has not been spoilt by a mass flood of tourism. The village tries to ensure that guests receive a first-class service in all its establishments and attractions. There are two areas of local slopes and there is also a Glacier. The Meilleret side of Les ...

Nendaz is an attractive village set on a large plateau above the town of Sion in the Rhone Valley. It is surprisingly large for a ski resort (17,000 holiday beds) that is relatively unknown by the British and its facilities are more in line with those of many much bigger ski stations. The ski...

La Tzoumaz (or Mayen de Riddes as it is also sometimes known) is a small ski village at the foot of the North facing slopes of the Savoleyres mountain of Verbier. Veysonnaz is a small, family friendly resort only 15 minutes' drive from the old valley town of Sion (worth a visit on a bad weather day by the way). The resort faces mostly North (so holds snow on the home slopes well) across the wide and rather beautiful Rhone Valley. There are lift links to th...
