The Ski Lodge

The Ski Lodge is an exciting addition to the Norwood SA range of property developments in the French-speaking area of Switzerland. Founded by Bjorn Mydske in 1967 the company is now headed up by his son, Frederic, and Peter Brun. Over the last 60 years the business has finished over 2,000 developments from commercial space to hotels. The Ski Lodge is very much a passion project driven by Frederic who grew up skiing in Verbier as a child. His vision was to create a luxury boutique hotel that has an understated 'low key' atmosphere in which guests can truly relax and appreciate the mountains.

The interior design was lead by Sophie Kogevinas, a London-based designer, known for her residential projects in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, including several privately owned alpine chalets.

The main bar and lounge area, known as The Listening Room, is a space designed for quiet socialising with a cocktail and friends or family. Chef Mario Paiva's restaurant (The Peak) feels like a New York bistro, enhanced by Peruvian influences that incorporate cooking techniques and ingredients from around the world.

There are four different room categories from Standard (18sqm - 21sqm) to Deluxe (26sqm) and Mountain Suite (30sqm) and finally a Mountain Suite with Terrace. 12 of the rooms are interconnecting and offer pairs of rooms in all categories. All rooms have a balcony (or terrace) and even the Standard rooms offer a single bunk bed above the main double for a child. The Deluxe rooms have two single bunks and sleep up to 4 guests.

The Ski Lodge has been awarded the Minergie Certification by Swiss authorities. This is the leading Swiss certification scheme for properties built using sustainable construction techniques. These include district heating powered by renewable energy; integrated photovoltaic panels; underfloor heating and a carefully designed ventilation system.
