" The Montana Lodge & Spa in la Thuile is beautifully decorated and well appointed. The rooms are comfortable and the beds were of a high standard. We had the interconnecting rooms we requested and the rooms were spacious enough for our three children. The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping everything tidy and clean. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. They were slow at times and their English was not always fluent but we got there in the end. The a la carte menu was not as good as the daily set menu which was a shame but we didn't mind. They were perhaps trying a bit too hard and should have stuck with good quality Italian food. The front desk were not very helpful - this was surprising given the high standard of everything else! There was excellent skiing conditions throughout the week, good powdery snow and excellent weather, except for one day where it was foggy. There were enough blue red and black pistes to suit everyone and the children's facilities were very good. I booked with John (Alpine Answers) because he seemed to understand what I was looking for - basically he listened to my long list of requests and he made several good suggestions. He responded in good time and efficiently, answered all my questions fairly. In the end, he came up with the best deal value for money and we were not disappointed. I liked the fact that he had actually been to the resort and could speak from personal experience. He was very helpful. "
