Hotel La Mourra

" I wanted to take this opportunity to write to you to say how very much we enjoyed your recommendation of La Mourra. I am not usually one for writing recommendations or gushing ... but in this case I have made an exception. Where to start.... Room: The room was huge, beautifully designed and incredibly elegant and boutique. The bathroom was a great size and the small cabin area which had a day bed for Oliver was perfect. All the other usual 5* amenities were on tap. Lovely balcony though we didn't use it. Hotel Amenities: I cannot speak more highly of the staff and the service. The boot room men were very attentive carrying skis and generally being helpful. The car to slope service was amazing and just appeared when you needed it. We rang often from the gondola or slopes to say we were 5 minutes away and they appeared and always with a smile. I must say it was a huge luxury that was well received and very well liked after hard skiing all day. We asked for a late checkout and skied on our final day and the hotel were fabulous letting us keep our room until 1 pm. Spa was lovely I got a massage and there was no issues with appointments or disinterested staff they were great. Pool was lovely though if I was picky a hot tub would have been the icing on the cake. Restaurant: You would think Japanese / French fusion would be too much all week but actually the food and menu was balanced and meant you could choose something heavy / light and eat there easily all week. They used the room service menu for Oliver which was great. The staff were great and the Maitre d'restaurant was excellent and made a real difference speaking to us engaging with Oliver and genuinely interested in our thoughts and comments. His staff were a bit green but they will get better with experience. The second in command who had done 3 years at Le Blizzard was brilliant. Resort: The New Gen ski school was fab - easy to use, instructor was excellent. The recommendations on your website for ski hire were also great I liked the stars it enabled me to choose a venue that suited me and my requirements. The other restaurants that you suggested were again fab and we enjoyed them though not as much as La Mourra. "
