The Bergland is the first hotel from the Oztal region in Austria to become part of the Design Hotels group of luxury properties. It is unashamedly modern in decor but the service and hospitality that the Austrians are famous for are very much in evidence. It was not surprising therefore that it should have been chosen as the base hotel for the principal actors, production crew and directors (including Daniel Craig, Christopher Waltz and Sam Mendes) during the filming of James Bond in Spectre. Filming took place during December 2014 and January 2015 and included the famous scene using the Ice Q Restaurant when James meets bond girl, Lea Seydoux (playing Madeleine Swann as Manageress of the Hoffler Medical Klinik), for the first time.
Daniel Craig and his wife Rachel Weisz stayed in the 212 square metre luxurious Gipfelsuite. However, there are plenty of smaller rooms, including those that are designed for single use, to choose from. Mr Craig wrote in the guest book after his stay, "What a beautiful place! I had such a peaceful time I forgot I was working."
On account of its size and style the hotel is best suited to groups and the three different sized conference rooms supports this notion. However, corporate groups tend to stay during the week which means for weekends this hotel would be perfect for couples.
The huge spa area offers 1,700 square metres of relaxation space and thoughtfully includes a 'swimwear sauna' for the more bashful international clients who do not wish to embrace full Austrian spa nudity.
This stylish, modern hotel provides amazing spa facilities. If you like to sauna, steam, swim, workout and relax on your ski holiday then this makes a great choice.
The 1,700 sq metre wellness spa with its rooftop views will allow you to relax completely. There is an indoor swimming pool (11m x 7.5m), outdoor Jacuzzi, steam room, two different saunas, treatment rooms for massage or beauty sessions and a large relaxation room. There are also three conference rooms ranging in size from 150 to 50 square metres with all the facilities you might need.
