Ski Hire in St Anton
Although a major alpine ski destination St Anton has comparatively few ski hire shops compared to other top resorts. However, the equipment hire outlets available here are all very large and stocked with a huge range of ski and snowboard equipment - this resort is the birth place of modern skiing after all.
There are three independent shops in the main Dorfstrasse of St Anton (Hervis, Intersport and Sport Pete) and another on the Arlbergstrasse (Sport Ski West). However, in reality Sport Jennewein and Alber Sport between them have a dominant position in St Anton regards ski hire.
Overnight ski and boot storage with Alber Sport
Any of the Alber Sport shops we recommend below allow overnight ski & boot storage which is very handy if you are staying in accommodation located up the hill (in the Gastiweg or Alte Arlbergstrasse area). Storing your equipment in a shop located next to the main lift station overnight means you can walk to and from your accommodation in ordinary shoes with no need to carry your skis or snowboard up or down the hill.
The cost for storing skis & poles in open racks, and ski boots in open lockers is half price when you rent through Alber Sport (the half price 2017/18 cost is 13 euros per person per week for ski & ski boot storage). Alternatively there are lockable ski boot lockers which also have space for a helmet and a few other personal items. At the half price rate these cost 10 euros per locker per week (with space for one pair of ski boots). If you rent a lockable locker for your ski boots then separate ski storage would be 8 euros per week (again, this is the half price rate based on you renting equipment from the shop).
