Chalet Romantik

Chalet Romantik is a large catered chalet in Sölden, an increasingly popular ski resort in the heart of the Ötztal Arena ski domain. This former pension style hotel offers 14 en-suite bedrooms (6 x doubles and 8 x triple rooms) with capacity to sleep a maximum 36 guests.

It is particularly suited to families (with the triple rooms) or groups of friends looking for a comfortable group chalet in Austria.

However, every guest will really appreciate the superb location being just 400 metres from the Giggijochbahn main lift station, providing easy access to the extensive Sölden ski area. With over 140 kilometres of pistes, modern lift systems and glacier skiing on the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers, Sölden is known for its reliable snow conditions and long ski season.

The Chalet Romantik is staffed with a team of three who will look cook, serve and clean. The property has a traditional Austrian style of decor with plenty of wood panelling and a warm, comfortable atmosphere. The bedrooms provide practical and private accommodation, while the shared living spaces are designed for groups to gather and unwind. The chalet also includes a wellness area in the lower floor with a sauna (ideal for relaxing after skiing or snowboarding) and table tennis table.

On the ground floor, there is a dining room and reception area with comfortable seating. The first floor has four double rooms and four triple rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. The second floor offers two additional double rooms and four triple rooms.

NB: This chalet is operated by a Dutch tour operator, who have been in the catered ski chalet business since 1977, operating 37 ski chalets in France, Austria and Italy.

The main difference between a 'normal' British-run chalet, which you will be familiar with, and the Dutch product is that afternoon tea and cakes are not included. However, house wine, beers, soft drinks, and tea and coffee are available and are included in the cost of your holiday.

Breakfasts will be continental in style with cheese, hams and bread, yogurt and fruit juices, tea and coffee.

Below are examples of typical evening dinners:

Starter: Basil bruschetta with fresh tomato and mozzarella.
Main: Meat loaf with roasted onions, mushrooms and tomatoes, pomme gratin, salad with red onion, cucumber, feta and olives.
Pud: Poached pears with chocolate mousse.

Or

Starter: Giant mushrooms stuffed with bacon and bleu d'Auvergne served with a warm 'Morzinoise' roll.
Main: Braised cod with a mustard cream sauce, mashed potatoes and roasted winter vegetables.
Pud: Warm pear apple crumb pie with ice cream.

Afternoon tea and cakes are not included in the cost of the holiday. If you would like to have afternoon tea and cakes you can pay a small supplement. Please call for details.
