Zermatt chalets - locations to consider

Those located in the elevated area of Winklematten are close to the main Klein Matterhorn cable car station and from some you can even ski down to the lift in the morning. This area of the resort also gives the best views over the resort centre and also of the majestic Matterhorn Mountain. However, they are furthest away from the main street with its huge selection of bars, shops and restaurants.

Chalets at the other end of Zermatt are the furthest away from the Klein Matterhorn cable car station but they have much easier access to both the old Gornergrat cog railway and the Sunnegga Funicular lift. These lifts access the interlinked areas of Sunnegga and Gornergrat. And from the latter you can ski down to the Furi - Trockener Steg lift that takes skiers towards the main glacier skiing area and connection to Italy and the resort of Cervinia.

Located at the base of the Sunnegga Funicular lift (and therefore with very easy and quick access to the main ski area) lies the sumptuous 7 Heavens development of luxury chalet properties. Ranging from 500 - 1,250 square metres in size these seven chalet properties offer some of the most luxurious chalet space in Zermatt. Close to the centre and with stunning views of the Matterhorn Mountain they truly are something special.

Behind the main pedestrian street to the west are further luxury chalets. Chalet Zermattt Peak is one of the best chalets in the world (let alone in Zermatt). Other notable chalets in Zermatt which are in the same location include the Heinz Julen Penthouse and the Loft, both styled and developed by Zermatt's most famous architect/interior designer.
