Ski France Holidays
If you have skied in France before, chances are you've unknowingly stayed in a property run by Ski France. They're one of the bigger players in the Alps but without the fanfare – a bit like that friend who organises the group holiday, books the best chalet, and quietly makes everything run smoothly. That's exactly Ski France.
Ski France which is split into two distinct brands each with its own legal entity: Ski France Classic and Ski France Premium. Both are part of the larger Eurogroup SAS family – the same company behind Madame Vacances (which manages a huge number of hotels, apartments and villas across France and beyond) and the London-based 28° 50° restaurant group. Richard Green, the man behind it all, has been quietly shaping the French ski and hospitality scene since the early 1990s. He started by taking on the lease and managing a bar in Val Thorens which he branded as The Frog and Roastbeef (at the time the highest bar in Europe). This venue went on to become a hugely popular après ski venue. Now simply known as The Frog it is still going strong.

Since 1988 (that's over three decades of experience) Ski France Premium has carved out a reputation for offering reliable, well-run chalet holidays in France’s best-loved resorts. They’ve got a serious presence in places like Val d’Isère, Méribel, Val d’Isere, Alpe d’Huez and beyond. And unlike some operators who outsource everything, Ski France runs the show directly, from property management to catering logistics. That keeps things consistent, and it means you’re less likely to run into the usual "someone else’s problem" scenario if anything needs sorting during your stay.
Their strength lies in good value and simplicity. You won’t find overly flashy marketing or elaborate concierge promises – just well-equipped chalets in prime locations, solid support on the ground, and a few clever extras that make life easier on the slopes.
Contactless Catering
One of the best examples of Ski France’s no-nonsense approach is their take on chalet catering – known as contactless catering. Born out of the Covid era, the concept took off and has stuck around for good reason. It’s essentially what it sounds like: a team of chefs prepare fresh, home-cooked meals every day and deliver them to your chalet, ready for you to heat up and serve when it suits you.
This setup works especially well if you’re the kind of skier who isn’t always sure when you’ll be back from après, or you just prefer eating on your own schedule. You’re not tied to a specific dinnertime or the presence of in-house staff – it’s all about flexibility without compromising on food quality. Meals are prepared in centralised kitchens using fresh ingredients (plenty of regional Savoyard flair in there too) and undergo proper quality checks before being delivered.
There’s a full week’s worth of hearty fare – breakfasts, afternoon snacks, and six three-course dinners with nibbles – all waiting for you when you’re ready. It feels relaxed, almost like self-catering, but with all the hard work done for you. The only downside, in our view, is the clearing away and washing up. But let’s be honest – if that’s the biggest complaint, it’s a small price to pay for such flexibility.
If you're after a solid ski holiday without the faff, Ski France makes a strong case. They’ve got the properties, the in-resort teams, and the kind of quietly confident setup that comes from 30+ years of experience. Whether you go fully contactless catered, à la carte, or self-catered, you’ll find their holidays offer good value in excellent locations – and that’s hard to argue with.
