Ski Hire in Courmayeur

Ski hire Courmayeur - at Plan Checrouit with Lo Chalet

There are several different ski hire shops in Courmayeur with smaller independent stores. Most skiers staying in this traditional Italian resort choose to hire from the mid station area of Plan Checrouit at 1,700m. Both of the main lifts from Courmayeur (the cable car and the Dolonne gondola) arrive at the same point, the Plan Checrouit plateau. Here you will find several on-piste restaurants, the beginners' ski area & lift and three other main lifts which access the upper ski area.

Easy online ski hire booking for Courmayeur

There is no piste that leads down the mountain back to Courmayeur centre (although there is a tough run that leads down to the bottom of the Dolonne gondola) so nearly all skiers will finish their ski day back at Plan Checrouit and download either the gondola or cable car back down the mountain.

Hiring your equipment at Plan Checrouit makes good sense as you can leave your skis and boots overnight in the shops here for free. This means you don't have to carry your skis and poles or walk in uncomfortable ski boots through town each day. There are several hire shops at Plan Checrouit including the one that we offer through Skiset called 'Lo Sci Chalet'.

Ski or snowboard rental in Courmayeur - the options

1. Independent stores

There are several ski hire stores in Courmayeur town centre including 'Ski In' and '4810', the latter of which has a store located at the bottom of the Dolonne gondola station. Please note that if you hire from a store in town you will end up walking to and from your accommodation in your ski boots each day whilst carrying your skis.

2. SKISET

For good prices (up to 45% discount from the walk-in price) and a wide range of equipment please use our online ski hire booking service. For this we have teamed up with SKISET who have the largest network of ski hire outlets across the Alps. Select your accommodation from the drop down list (see map below) to show where you are staying in relation to their store(s).

Why we recommend SKISET + Our prices compared with other ski holiday companies

The online booking process is very easy. There is no need to enter your shoe size, weight or height. Simply choose your 1st ski day (usually the day after you arrive in resort), the number of days you wish to hire for and what category of equipment you wish to book. On booking you will receive an email receipt for your booking with an attached voucher. Please print this voucher and present at the SKISET store at Plan Checrouit.

For each quality category there are many different makes and models of skis and snowboards to choose from. The shop staff in resort will help you select the best equipment from the category you booked to match your ability, preferred ski terrain (piste, park or off-piste) and the prevailing ski/snowboarding conditions.

Your ski hire voucher can be used at the following SKISET stores (see map below):

  • Sci Lo Chalet: Located at Plan Checrouit, 150 metres from the top of the Courmayeur cable car and the Dolonne gondola.

Checking prices and/or extending ski hire to 7 or more days

Occasionally it is cheaper to book direct on the Skiset site so it is worth comparing prices to ensure you are getting the best deal. Furthermore if you wish to hire for 7 or more days you will need to go direct to the SKISET website.
