Overview
This delightful hotel run by the Werner family dates back to 1386 when it was a hostel offering shelter to travellers making their away across the mountains.
Now it is a 5 star luxury hotel and fully deserves its reputation as one of the best hotels in the Alps. The hotel boasts one of the world's largest collections of fine wine, stored in the 600 year old Fraternity Cellar. Blissfully comfortable rooms are elegantly decorated with luxurious bathrooms, satellite TV, telephone, fax, Hi-Fi, balcony and VCR. Some of the rooms have open fireplaces.
Rather than the usual half board, guests can choose from 5 restaurants in the "Arlberg1800 Resort" on the dine around package, including the famous Hospiz Alm.
The Arlberg Hospiz is a great choice for families with young children. The kids zone is free and your little ones will be well looked after from 9am to 9pm if required. The hotel is imposing as it is a big old place, but the service, food and wine is first class. The rooms are a little tired but comfortable all the same. The spa also needs a mention as it is a wonderful place to relax after a day on the slopes, which by the way are right outside the hotel!
