Chalets with Childcare
The family ski chalets with childcare that we list below are properties that come with their own private nanny or crèche services. If you need babysitting in the evening or daytime crèche, or childcare while you go out skiing, it can all be pre-booked through your chalet operator before you travel. This means you don’t have the stress of organising it yourself in resort as your tour operator has staff on the ground to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Some clients prefer to have everything about their ski holiday covered by just one holiday company. For this group booking into one of the family ski chalets below is the way forward. Childcare is provided by your chalet operator in these family friendly chalets so you have just one invoice for your holiday and just one point of contact to sort out any holiday issues.
Chalet companies with included nanny/childcare servicesSome ski chalet companies will also employ fully qualified nannies to allow families to book both their accommodation and their childcare needs under one holiday invoice. This will give families the same service that they would get by booking a nanny through an independent nanny agency but makes the process neater.
Scott Dunn SkiAt the luxury end of the market Scott Dunn offer a private nanny service which can be booked at an extra cost when you book one of their chalets. Scott Dunn also manage their own exclusive ‘Explorers Kids Club’ for anyone on a Scott Dunn ski holiday in Val d'Isere.
Premiere NeigeWith self-catering and catered chalets Premiere Neige operate exclusively in the very family friendly French resort of Ste Foy, located midway between Val d'Isere and Les Arcs. For total flexibility they offer private nannies to book for the whole week.
However, Ste Foy has an excellent in-resort Kids Club which is run by a collaboration between the lift pass office and the ESF ski school. This excellent facility which is located in the centre of Ste Foy welcomes children from 3 - 11 years of age. It opens every day except Saturdays and offers 1, 3, 5 or 6 day childcare options (with or without lunch) and includes a mix of indoor and outdoor activities (snow shoeing, treasure trails, snow games, sledging, face painting and creative activities. Ski school pick up is also an option.
VIP SkiVIP Ski can also offer a private nanny (subject to availability) in all their resorts: Morzine, Avoriaz, Meribel, Courchevel 1850, Val d'Isere, Lech and St Anton. This service is for 6 full days and consists 8 consecutive hours between 8.00hrs and 20.00hrs - the client chooses when these hours begin. In their Austrian chalet hotels VIP Ski also offer a 'kids club' where the nannies pick up the children from ski school and entertain them for the afternoon.
MeriskiMeribel specialists Meriski offer a private in-chalet nanny service with the flexibility to choose from half days, full days or even just after-ski care for your children. The nannies work for 5.5 days but you have the flexibility to choose when that half day is taken.
Chalet companies with private crèche serviceIf you have very young children or infants with you on holiday and would rather leave them in an environment where they can make new friends, then a chalet run crèche may be the answer. This is quite hard to come by but there are two chalet operators who offer this service.
Le SkiLe Ski has a private crèche in La Tania, their most family friendly resort. Children can be booked in for full day care but they also offer a lunchtime supervision service which operates between morning and afternoon ski school sessions.
MeriskiMeriski also have a crèche in resort which has the flexibility to offer whole days, morning sessions or afternoon ski school pick up and pm care only. The crèche services also include a pick up and drop off service from your chalet.
Chalet companies offering childcare combined with ski schoolIf your children are old enough to need ski school but young enough to also need some sort of formal childcare then there are several different operators to choose from who offer a practical combination of childcare and ski school.
Ski EspritSki Esprit and they have a wide range of properties across the Alps, looking after children aged from 17 weeks to 12 years old. They offer crèche, kids clubs, evening care as well as their own dedicated ski classes so that your children can be looked after pretty much all day.
Ski FamilleSki Famille is a rival to Ski Esprit and they offer a very similar wide ranging childcare service. The principal difference is that the Ski Famille childcare takes place 'in-chalet' rather than in a separate crèche building found in another part of the resort. Ski Famille offer an ‘a la carte’ service whereby clients pick and choose from different elements of childcare service to truly suit their family's needs.
Club MedClub Med also offer a wide range of different childcare services but which service is on offer will depend on which Club Med resort you stay at. Most properties offer Mini Club Med (for ages 4-10 years old) and Junior Club Med (ages 11-17) which both include ski lessons, all day childcare and evening childcare and activities. Some Club Med resorts also offer Baby Club Med (infants) or Petit Club Med (for toddlers aged 2-3 years) with 3 year olds given the opportunity to learn to ski.
Mark WarnerMark Warner offer childcare in most of their chalet hotels for children aged 4 months to 12 years old. This service allows clients to book morning lessons for their children with a high quality local ski school and bolt on the additional drop off and pick up service (plus supervised lunch and afternoon care) provided by the Mark Warner nannies.
Booking childcare with an independent nanny agencyOther clients prefer to have a greater choice of chalet accommodation options by not restricting themselves to finding a property with a childcare specialist chalet company. To cover any childcare needs that they may have they are happy to outsource this by booking a private nanny or other childcare needs through an independent nanny agency based in the Alps.
If you are taking young children skiing then the chances are you will need childcare of some shape or form. There are a few hotel options open to you but the vast majority of our clients prefer the informal (and cheaper) atmosphere of a catered chalet which also comes with additional childcare services. There is a myriad of different options available depending on your needs and budget but we can guide you through which would be the most suitable for you.
