This is a true character chalet with much charm and atmosphere.

Overview

Chalet Marilyn in Tignes is a traditional chalet sleeping between 7 and 8 guests making it a great option for a large family or group of friends looking for sole occupancy. The chalet is very comfortable and tastefully furnished. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, dining and living room area with a terrace outside with excellent views (the chalet is built into the hillside) The first and second floor both have two en-suite bedrooms. There is the added bonus of a small indoor sauna - the perfect way to relax the body after a long day on the slopes.

Ski access is the very quick and straightforward. The Chaudannes and Paquis high-speed chairlifts (opening up the whole resort) are within 150 metres of the property. Furthermore, the centre of Tignes Le Lac, with a good selection of apres ski bars and restaurants, is within a short stroll.

Please note that children less than 13 years of age are not accepted into shared chalets outside of peak weeks (Christmas, New Year, Half Term and Easter) unless the party books the chalet for sole occupancy.

Client Comments

" The chalet is more like a home away from home, more suited to family groups or a group of friends as it is quite cosy. Rooms are on the smallish size, and there is adequate storage space, though big suitcases would prove to be tricky! The overall atmosphere of the chalet is very relaxing and has a definite alpine theme. The steps down to the chalet can be a little snowy but are certainly manageable, and it helps to pack slippers or indoor shoes. "

" The resort staff were excellent and the chalet outstanding. Whole chalet occupancy worked out very well. The chalet host was excellent too. Will definitely go again if we're going to Tignes and if we have the party size to book the whole chalet once again. Alice Howard (Alpine Answers) was outstanding. Excellent service and good recommendations. "

Mr M K

" The Chalet Host and Flexi host were great. Very friendly and great chefs. The Ski host was excellent with great knowledge of the mountains showing us some fantastic runs. They lay-out of the communal area was lovely. The bedrooms were very small, with little storage space available. There is no boot/ski room provided so it was necessary to bring the boots into the chelet and left in the shower tray overnight otherwise they would have stayed wet and cold. The beds are small, wooden and very squeaky. The bedroom above the kitchen area is extremely hot at night and it wasn't until the kitchen heater was lowered to level 2 and the bathroom window left open that it became cool enough to get a reasonable night's sleep. The open fire was lovely when lit but the glass door was difficult to close once hot. For our chalet staff 'night off' we booked the Wilderness Mongolian experience which meant a minibus taxi ride to Tignes Les Boisses. Here we sat around a lovely open-air camp fire with bean bags to sit on and a hot drink. We were then served soup and later went into the Yurt for a delicious fondue and salad served with wine. The evening finished off with a moon-lit walk across the resort and then a thrilling toboggan ride down to the village of Tignes Les Brevieres. It was such a great evening and worth every Euro. I spoke to Sarah at Alpine Answers who was excellent over the phone and called back when expected and emailed details. Sarah had given me such good service that I wanted to give her my business. "
