In the event that insurance becomes available for such an event at a cost of less than £65pp or £100 per couple, we will insist that you take it and claim on that in the event of a lockdown. NB. The chalet company asks you to take out holiday insurance to cover you personally for Covid and that it that covers personal quarantine ie. If you are asked to quarantine due to a close contact contracting Covid or track and trace requiring you to quarantine.
Overview
The Chalet Hotel Rond Point in Megeve has an excellent position right in the centre of town and next to the outdoor ice skating rink. This former two star hotel (now a British managed chalet hotel) is just three minutes' walk away from the Chamois lift. For most of the season you can ski back to within 100 meters of the chalet (snow conditions permitting).
The 13 bedrooms are comfortable, simple and homely, decorated in a traditional Savoyard style. Each bedroom has an en-suite bath or shower room.
The resident professional chef will spoil you daily with a hearty breakfast of croissants, porridge, eggs, fresh fruit, yoghurts and pain au chocolat plus a 3 course evening meal cooked to a high standard on 6 evenings. Relax with a pre-dinner drink taken around the blazing open fireplace in the lounge and join the other guests at the chalet for a sociable evening ahead. There is a small TV room downstairs, equipped with English satellite TV (free-view channels), video player and board games. A perfect space for the children.
Guests are invited to join for free membership to the Unthank Ski Club. Enjoy social skiing in groups of like-minded skiers (there is a fast, medium and relaxed group) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. All groups meet back for lunch so that guests of differing abilities can reunite for a social lunch. The groups are led by volunteers (often your chalet staff) but as they are not professionals you are responsible for your own skiing and general safety. Club members meet outside the Caboche lift by the Terrasse de Mas restaurant at 10am and are usually finished by 12 noon.
There are not many chalet operators in Megeve and although the Chalet Hotel Rond Point is fairly basic, what you can expect is a friendly crowd of fellow guests and a good chalet operator looking after you.

" Good value for money. Basic but very clean. Staff v friendly and helpful and all seemed to be well organised. Good location on edge of town - it was possible to ski almost back to chalet, although needed to get bus to lifts in the morning. Megeve has a big ski area - nothing too challenging but lots of nice cruising runs. I have used Alpine Answers before and always found you to provide excellent service. "
