This chalet hotel comes highly recommended.

Chalet Hotel Christina is an ideal choice for families and for those wanting direct access to skiing. You can see the piste from the restaurant, the lifts are directly opposite and ski school is just 150 metres away, not bad!

Christina is the hotspot of La Plagne Centre. With a welcoming sun terrace for all to relax on as well as a spacious restaurant and lounge area, parents can relax in the safe knowledge that the children will not be out of sight. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate is readily available at any time, ideal if you just want to read a book and soak up the sun.

In the evenings, the snug hotel bar is a great place to meet like-minded skiers. For those wanting to stay out past dark then Scotty's Bar next door is a great choice. All 44 of the en-suite rooms are comfortable and spacious, though the furnishing is a little simple. Some rooms can be re-arranged to suit family or group sizes too. Wi-Fi is available in the chalet at an additional cost.

Alpine Answers say:

The Chalet Hotel Christina is an institution, having been run by the same chalet operator for more than twenty years. The ski-in and ski-out location and the friendly family atmosphere help to detract from the simple decor. There is a full programme of childcare.

Client Comments

" The WC area in our twin room was cramped. Otherwise, an extremely pleasant place to stay. Warm, lots of hot water, room cleaned every day and great food throughout our stay. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. It almost seemed that I was being pampered which I have never experienced on a skiing holiday. "

Ms J K

" The staff were friendly, helpful, and responsive. Very good. Best nanny we've had and great ski hosts. The service that this tour operator gives is excellent. The accommodation lets them down a bit and the food isn't always great (especially kids meals) but overall they're good. It's very shabby and noisy. The sound proofing in the building is non-existent. Children running around their room above you sounds as though they're in your room. The bar downstairs can be noisy (best to just go and join in I think). The bathrooms have been updated fairly recently which helps a bit but the water pressure in one of our rooms was so low you could barely rinse shampoo out of your hair (the staff couldn't do anything about it). But it's a good size so that you quickly feel you know (at least by sight) most people there so you feel quite comfortable about your children having freedom to go about on their own. They enjoyed the football table and pool table. "

Mrs D S

" Some of the staff were friendlier than others. Generally good and helpful. Great ski-in / ski-out location but the hotel rooms desperately needs doing up, we would have been very disappointed if paid full price. Hot water not consistent - would be freezing and then boiling. Food was great though! Alpine Answers were great - I was looking for a last minute deal and Claire (Alpine Answers) was the most helpful out of all the companies we called. "
