A really comfortable chalet with large sitting room and relaxing hot tub.

Overview

Chalet Sarenne in Alpe d'Huez is a traditional chalet apartment which has undergone a recent refurbishment and offers a great place to relax after a day's skiing.

Chalet Sarenne has a large open plan lounge/dining area which opens out on to a south-facing balcony with a hot tub. The amazing views from the balcony and the hot tub look over the peaks of the nearby National Park. The chalet has a fantastic location; just a short walk to the 'Telecentre' ski lift and close to the shops, bars and nightlife of the resort. The outdoor pool and ice rink (included on the lift pass) are under 5 minutes' walk away.

All 4 bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Chalet Sarenne is ideal for a group of friends or family who want a chalet in a great location with easy access to the slopes and the amenities of the resort.

Alpine Answers note: We have estimated the position of this property based on a description we have been given by the tour operator.

Alpine Answers say:

We like this chalet as it has a massive open-plan lounge and dining area, perfect for relaxing in after a hard day on the slopes. There is the added bonus of an outdoor hot tub and the location is convenient for most things.

Client Comments

" The food was mostly good but in the brochure it talked about porridge but it was never offered. When the oats were found in a cupboard the only comment from the staff was that if they used them for porridge then they could not make flapjacks! It also mentioned tea or coffee served in bed, not that anyone wanted it but it was never offered. The quality of some of the ingredients seemed poor, the wines were ok but there was zero understanding that you don't provide a dessert wine to go with a main course and you don't keep swapping a different wine each time a bottle is emptied. One would think that having started back in November there would be some level of knowledge by mid-March if the training had not worked. I know I am going on but this is the first time I have come across this poor level and also the first time we decided to go for a chalet supposedly at the 5 star level [Alpine Answers note: We only award this property a 3 star rating which we feel is fair. The 5 star rating is one that the tour operator award]. The rooms were a good size but had a lack of hanging space so I lived out of my suitcase for the week. A small chest of drawers was provided. Alpe d'Huez was an excellent resort - it was very wide ranging, some excellent runs and good choice of restaurants both on and off the mountain. Alice Howard (Alpine Answers) was oustanding. I had kept an eye on your website for a while and saw the deal you offered. I have been extremely impressed by the professionalism of your staff. (That's a shock, I said something positive in this questionnaire!). "
