Rustic, traditional and comfortable.

Chalet Furka is located opposite the domed church in the tranquil hamlet of Zug, on the road from Lech. It is only 50 metres (approx.) to the bus stop for regular free buses to the exclusive resort of Lech and only 100 metres (approx.) from the Zugerbahn chairlift. Previously run as a small guesthouse, all rooms are tastefully decorated and have the added advantage of en-suite facilities, TV and many with a balcony. At the entrance to the chalet is a small shop selling cigarettes, sweets and souvenirs. The comfortable dining area has a balcony with great views across the valley. There is a small wellness area with a sauna and beauty salon for those who wish to pamper themselves after a long day on the slopes!

Note: for the week starting 16th February 2019 (UK Half Term week) there will be one extra day during the week with cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and evening dinner with complimentary wine. So 6 days will be catered.

Alpine Answers say:

A great location to access the skiing of the World famous Arlberg ski domain. Not so good if you want to party all night long. This is a good, solid, mid-market chalet.

Client Comments

" The staff were fantastic - helpful, kind & welcoming. We got stuck in our chalet due to heavy snow and our road was blocked by an avalanche so missed our flight home. The resort team were fantastic at keeping us informed of what was happing and as soon as it was safe for us to do so got us out and to the airport and on to the next available flight home. In the end we arrived home hours not days late - they couldn't have done more. Zug was a great place to stay if you like a quiet holiday without much to do in the evening but the village has a good free bus service that runs until 8pm (after that one pays a small fee) but buses run to the early hours to the nearest resorts of Lech and Zurs. " The resort staff were very good - the hosts were fantastic and made us very welcome. The only thing missing is a relaxing lounge area - the steamroom was the place where most people congregated and it was very cramped - the other party (of 11) tended to stick together and we (4 of us) had to move into our dining area to relax downstairs. The Furka owner, Christian, was very welcoming and greeted us the first evening with a drink. Becky and Richard were great hosts, and Scott and Marianne were a real help when Richard was absent due to illness. Scott's quiz was great and we loved his guiding morning. He skies too well though! We loved Roy the retired mountain rescue dog as well. David (Alpine Answers) listened to what we needed, and even though I had the same deal offered through another operator, he was tenacious and determined to get the sale but without being pushy. He followed up, phoned back when he said he would and 'went the extra mile'. The other operator simply told me of the details and emailed me to see if I was interested - David called a number of times but without being overzealous. After we had booked, Amie was great at helping on the ski passes and again followed up and was extremely polite. Very impressed! "
