Overview

Chalet Hotel Abendrot in Ischgl is a luxurious, recently constructed property with the capacity to sleep up to 61 guests. Its location is truly excellent; right in the centre of the village with just a short walk to a large range of shops, bars and nightclubs, all of which have a fantastic reputation.

Ischgl has three main lifts and this chalet hotel is sandwiched perfectly between two of them; the Fimbabahn and Silvrettaban which are both under a 5 minute walk. The facilities in the hotel are second to none, there is a spa/wellness area fitted with a sauna, steam bath and relaxation room. Every room is beautifully furnished with subtle Austrian touches, all are en-suite and a large majority have balconies.

Families with children are welcome to book into this chalet hotel for any departure date, whether or not you book the entire property for exclusive use.

Alpine Answers say:

This is a smart property in a great central location. The photos do not do it justice! Bathrooms have a great sound system which is a nice (and unusual!) touch.

Client Comments

" The chalet staff and rep were first rate. We were not an easy party to deal with and they coped admirably with flexibility, cheerfulness and quality. The food was excellent and the barman was an absolute hero. The chalet hotel is newly refurbished really very impressive. Rooms were spacious and clean. Showers are fantastic. Sound proofing is brilliant which is good for such a party town. Ischgl as a resort was fantastic. Without a doubt the best apres ski I've ever seen in the Alps, and the skiing isn't bad either. "

" The resort staff were probably the best that we have encountered. Without exception they were efficient, very helpful and always cheerful. The Chalet Abendrot was a smart hotel with large rooms and plenty of storage space. Food was very good as was the service. In an ideal world there would be more lounge space and a larger Boot Room but this did not impact on our enjoyment of the holiday. Ischgl was outstanding as a resort. Something for everyone with a wide variety of well-groomed pistes. Good selection of restaurants both in resort and on the mountains. "

" The resort staff were good - helpful overall. Hotel is better than it looks on the picture, and is more welcoming, though the communal areas have a motel feel to them - fitted seats; polyester upholstery; service area patterns - that sort of thing. There is not enough space for everyone to sit down around the bar at the same time, not a problem other than before tea when canapés were served. Otherwise the rooms are all very generous, probably well in the top decile for space in my experience. The hotel is new, and very clean. The wellness centre was a nice touch; not massive, but enough for a dozen or so guests at one time. Hotel is well located: 10 minutes' walk from the lifts at the NE end of town; around 5 to the central Silvretta. For good / confident skiers you can ski back to within 100 yards - less if the neighbouring car park happens to be snow covered, though the 1a run back to the valley requires confidence and a sense of humour at tea-time when it got very busy. Food was good; not excellent, but good. An extra variety of veg wouldn't have gone amiss some evenings. Ischgl is much more alpine-like than most other Austrian resorts. I would actually rate it above St Anton in terms of piste interest - the grid allows journeys in different directions every day, with much more variety in the skiing, and some great runs lower down in the trees. The off-piste and blacks aren't as challenging as those just over the hill, but there is plenty of off-piste, and better suited to those progressing, rather then genuinely expert. Mountain restaurants all feel like airport terminal buildings, with some spectacular settings, but the food was good and better than that in terms of value for money. The one downer was lifts stopping at 4pm - though they did start at 08:30. Why the short day? Lift price is expensive, but lift quality just about justifies that. One more lift from the valley wouldn't go amiss, though lay-of-the land makes that a challenge. "
