Ski Holidays

Ski holidays. Alpine Answers, the UK's favourite specialist ski holiday travel agency. If you haven't heard of us before we actually began sourcing and selling ski holidays for clients way back in 1992 (when we were younger!). That was long before email and the internet spawned copycat businesses and would-be travel agents sitting at their kitchen tables! Rest assured we are the real deal with both ABTA and ATOL licences.

We are able to offer ski holiday to Europe, North America and Canada in chalets and hotels. We have a wealth of knowledge about resorts, chalets and hotels and the service provided to you on your ski holiday.

To search, sort and view all our chalets click on this link all our catered ski chalets.

Oh, by the way....here are some things we do NOT do...

  1. We do not sell the cheap and cheerful end of the market. We believe in offering our clients good quality holidays - not necessarily the cheapest

  2. We are not tied by commercial terms to selling those holiday companies that offer us the highest commission

  3. We do not advocate the 'hard sell'. Instead we prefer to advise our clients. No wonder that we have retained so many clients for many, many years

We hope you like the site, which we like to think is a bit like us: straight forward; honest; helpful and informative. We very much look forward to hearing from you soon

  • Bambis1

    Bambis

    Meribel
    France
    Sleeps:
    8 - 10
Chalet Bambis is one of the only genuine ski in - ski out chalets in Meribel and we are proud to feature it in our portfolio. Traditionally furnished, the space has been used to its maximum potential and whilst the lower downstairs bedrooms are quite small, much of the old character remains throughout. The living room has a wonderful, large stone fireplace where relaxed evenings with a glass of wine can be enjoyed after a hard day's skiing. An ideal chalet for a either a group of friends or families with children who ski, Chalet Bambis' most impressive feature is being able to walk out of the boot room equipped with boot warmers, put your skis or board on outside and slide down to the Chaudanne to catch the first lifts. Guests should note the chalet is not really suitable for babies or younger children as access involves a walk across the piste from the road. Please note that occasionally this chalet is split sold on a room by room, night by night basis. This means guests during one of these 'split sell' weeks will come and go throughout the duration of the week. Key points with regards the minibus service: - The service will be available from 8am to 10pm all week including the chalet staff day off. - Guests will be able to be picked up or dropped off to anywhere in the resort of Meribel. - All vehicles are 4x4 with leather interiors and DVD players with minimum 7 passenger seats. - Car seats for babies and children will be provided for all guest shuttles including creche pick up / drop offs. - Chalet staff will liase daily with the duty chauffeur to arrange morning pick up times. - Guests will be provided with cards with the duty chauffeur's number to contact for the afternoon pick up. • Durocher8
In the little enclave known as the Village du Cret there are about eight of Val d'Isere's original chalets. It is clear how old they are from their worn stone steps, their wormy timbers and their lichen-spattered granite roof slabs. So it comes as a slight surprise to see in any old photograph that until about 1980 there was just one, the 1620s farmhouse which later became our Chalets La Maison du Rocher and neighbouring Le Vieux Cret. The other chalets are all new, and their genuine C19 wheelbarrows and medieval drinking fountains came in a job lot from the local builder's merchant. No matter, the new buildings look great. But somehow, these two chalets, with their thick stone walls and hefty beams, do feel more solid and permanent than their imitators. More importantly, they have the best position, at the sunny front of the eponymous cret or ridge. La Maison du Rocher's bedrooms are not huge, and are authentically higgledy-piggledy, with two squeezed below the rafters, but they are all warm, welcoming and tasteful, with smart little bathrooms. Bedrooms 3 and 4 have single beds, which can fit together to make 6ft doubles (please specify which you prefer when you book). The vast sitting room has a large log fire, balcony, Wi-Fi, all-major-channel satellite with surround-sound etc. There is a separate dining room, where food is served which we defy any restaurant in Val d'Isere to match. On the ground floor are the chef's cell and a sauna. We are told that a glass of bubbly in the latter, then a naked plunge into the snowy garden, works wonders for aching muscles. The aches can come equally easily from over-energetic skiing or unaccustomed apres-skiing, since the Funival is just one bus stop one way and the fleshpots of the village centre two stops the other. If you chose to walk, either would take ten minutes. But if public transport and walking are anathema to you, you'll be glad to hear that there is now a Land Rover shuttle dedicated specifically to these two chalets to run you to or collect you from anywhere you like in Val d'Isere between 8.30 and 10am, then 3.30 and 8pm. • Solyneou2
Chalet Solyneou recently benefited from a facelift and is now among the finest chalets in Val d'Isere for a group of 8-10 people, blending traditional Alpine style with cool contemporary features. Its central location means the chalet is just a short stroll to the restaurants and shops of Val d'Isere. The large open plan living area and the ultra modern Wellness area make Solyneou a treat for a sociable group of friends or families. On the ground floor you are greeted by the stylish sight of the indoor swimming pool with its fountain and corner jets. The steam room is ideal for easing aching limbs after a hard day?s skiing. There is one good-sized twin/double bedroom (can fit a cot) on the ground floor with an en suite shower and flat screen TV. On the first floor the wood panelled living area is dominated by the central fireplace which can be enjoyed from all sides. The dining table hosts great dinner parties late into the evening and the sitting area benefits from 2 sofa areas with plenty of seating allowing everyone to spread out and relax. There is a huge flat screen TV with DVD player and satellite TV channels. On the balcony, the outdoor hot tub is a great place to enjoy a glass of chilled Champagne while looking up at the Bellevarde Mountain. The other four bedrooms are on the second floor. All are en suite with flat screen TVs and three have zip/link beds allowing them to be set up as twins or doubles. The bathrooms are stylishly appointed with Italian marble tiles. The master suite is particularly comfortable with a South facing balcony, views of the mountain, armchairs and a flat screen TV. Two of the rooms are under the eaves and have low ceilings. We think Chalet Solyneou is ideal for two families or a group of adults. Its location, and wellness facilities make it a great place to enjoy a skiing holiday and enjoy great service. The Farmhouse

    Morzine
    France
    Sleeps:
    24 - 32
One of the oldest building in Morzine (1771) and perfect for families, groups or individuals this chalet oozes charm and character. There is a huge fireplace and cosy bar to welcome you after a hard day in the mountains and there is a comfortable sitting room. The bar is open until 1am each night and the music collection is vast and varied! If the mood suits the sofas are pushed back and the dance floor is ready! Sometimes there is live music from local artists, and sometimes a bit of classical or jazz for a more relaxed evening. Your evenings begin with canapes and an aperitif before dinner. The dining room has one large 'banquet' style table where everybody eats together. Your hosts insist on a boy-girl-boy-girl seating arrangement and the menu is truly international. Please note that local neighbours and friends of the host may join guests for a drink at the bar and/or stay for for dinner. Please let us know if you would like to book on an exclusive basis. All bedrooms are very large and comfortable with various sleeping options including a family suit of two adjoining rooms. Please note that dinner with wine is provided on every night of the week as this is run more like a private auberge rather than a standard catered chalet. Another distinguishing feature of the excellent service provided here is the excellent ski guiding programme. Ferme du Ciel is a stunning architect designed renovation of a traditional Savoyard farmhouse positioned above the award winning heritage town of Samoens. The Ferme du Ciel enjoys sensational views, and is nestled in the mountains of the Grand Massif. Close to the Grand Massif Express gondola, the chalet is ideally positioned for skiers and walkers. Whilst the renovation has retained the Savoyard charm of the farmhouse, its large floor to ceiling windows bring the glory of the mountains into every room - it's luxurious alpine style at its best. Floors are tiled with under floor heating, traditional wood features are present throughout and the open plan design blends character with style. The first floor main living area ensures that the glorious views can be enjoyed whilst lazing on sumptuous sofas in the stunning double height living room. The central open stone fireplace is a great place to sit around with your choice of drink in hand on those winter evenings. Alternatively, you may prefer to end your day in the Jacuzzi with a glass of champagne! For fresh air enthusiasts the views can also be enjoyed from all of the balconies and terraces. • Bellevarde2
The Bellevarde Lodges are an imposing collection of six stone-and-timber chalets situated right on the Santons piste and just a few hundred metres from the Olympique cable car in Val d'Isere. The Lodges have proved extremely popular with guests and the national press. Described by the Evening Standard (2006) as 'comfortably chic, the best located new chalets in resort this season'. Named after wines (plus a brandy!) Muscat, Merlot, Margaux, Cognac, Savoie, Chablis - each chalet is identical in layout and varies only in orientation and colour scheme. Genuine old timbers from a local dismantled farmhouse, Italian marble in the bathrooms and polished parquet flooring have been used throughout. The vaulted sitting rooms with exposed beams and floor to ceiling glass boast finest English made sofas and one of the most breathtaking views in the resort.
