Eagles Nest revolutionised the chalet skiing holiday when it offered the first indoor swimming pool in a private chalet in 2002. As you arrive you are greeted by the bronze eagle, nearly 3 metres high and sculpted by Livio Benedetti who created the "Dame du Lac" you pass on the way to Val d'Isere. The chalet's position, atop a rock with incredible views over Val d'Isere, and in the private estate, simply cannot be rivalled. The famous La Face piste is at the end of the road, making Eagles Nest accessible on skis. Inside, beneath the surface of a beautiful, traditional alpine chalet is a super high tech property boasting a steam room, sauna, jetstream, Sonos integrated music system, flat screens and Playstation 3s in the bedrooms, and an outdoor hot tub. Chalet Eagles Nest is spread over four floors. At the top, the spacious living room is ideal for large groups and has vaulted ceilings, ample sofa space, a log fireplace and large sunny balconies. There is a separate mezzanine with flat screen and games consoles. On the ground floor is a small double room and the master suite which has outstanding views on two sides, a dressing room and wonderful bathroom decorated with Italian tiles. Descend another level and there are four double bedrooms all of which qualify as suites, also there is a single bedroom. All are beautifully furnished and en-suite. On the bottom floor, the fabulous Wellness area has wonderful views and integrated music. You can swim against the jetstream in the swimming pool; the sauna and steam room are perfect for soothing aching legs after skiing. Perhaps the best thing about Eagles Nest though is the authenticity. You need not be an expert in Savoyard antiques (although it helps) to see that the chalet is tastefully and beautifully decorated throughout. The chalet is constructed from antique timbers and every piece of furniture and every painting has been carefully selected for it's alpine heritage, true to the roots of the quiet farming village of Val d'Isere. Chalet Marie is one of the four 'Sisters' named after the owner's daughters. These luxury chalets are situated in a beautiful and quiet street on the estate of Les Fermes de Val in Val d'Isere. The four luxury chalets are in a great location within easy walking distance of the town-centre, although driver service is just a call away. The decor of Chalet Marie is best described as chalet-chic - a beautiful blend of reclaimed timber, natural stone, cosy soft furnishings and mod-cons that will make a stay all the more enjoyable. The exquisite Chalet White Pearl (sister chalet to Black Pearl which is next door) is spread over 3 floors and is ideally situated at the entrance to Val d'Isere village. It is 10 minutes walk to the heart of the resort (or 2 minute drive) in one direction and a two minute chauffeured drive from the Funival lift of La Daille in the other. This delightful 3 bedroom apartment chalet is snug but makes an ideal retreat for a family to enjoy a thoroughly relaxing week in Val d'Isere. It is located in the exclusive private enclave of Les Carats. The famous La Face piste is only 200m away, making Nepenthe nearly ski in / ski out. Although the bedrooms are small it is stylishly decorated and feels much like an authentic Alpine chalet inside. Chalet Nepenthe is on the second and third floors of the Topaze building and is accessed by the lift. On the lower floor there is an open plan living area with a fireplace, huge sofas that you sink into and a large south facing balcony which looks onto the forest behind which is ideal for soaking up the sun in the second half of the season. The kitchen is open plan so that you can see the chef host at work and discuss your skiing plans at breakfast.
