    Perdu

    Les Gets
    France
    Sleeps:
    10 - 14
It's all about location . . . the Chalet Perdu and The Mazot are lost to all but their guests, guaranteeing privacy, yet with bars and restaurants and the main ski lift just footsteps away! The position of Chalet Perdu in Les Gets is unrivalled, surrounded by open ground on four sides, yet almost impossible to see. A garden in a ski resort is rare yet here, so close to the lift and in the centre Chalet Perdu has it all. The balcony wraps around the chalet on three sides and has quite simply some of the most stunning views in the Alps. Sunset or sunrise is an eruption of colour at either end of the valley and here you will witness the true Portes Du Soleil. The interior of the chalet is decorated to a high standard, antique pine beds, individual pieces of handpainted and antique furniture, the soft glow of elegant lamps and burnished leather sofas welcome guests. Family groups and adults looking for style and convenience will find Chalet Perdu the perfect location. The 4 bedrooms are individually decorated and are either ensuite or have a dedicated bathroom. There are feather duvets and fine linens that provide a dreamy peaceful, recuperative sleep - no rowdy passers by or screeching and beeping snow ploughs! Each room has far reaching views over the mountains. Hairdryers are provided in each room and anti allergy bedlinen is available by request. All bathrooms are newly fitted and decorated in a restful, elegant style. White fittings and limestone tiles. Heated towel rails and white bath linen. Relax by the fire, antique Turkish carpets and leather sofas suround the stone chimney breast, sip champagne pre dinner or just enjoy the peaceful setting and the views over the mountains. The fireside area is adjacent to the dining area on the first floor. French doors with the tinkle of sleigh bells open unto the balcony - you will find chairs and a little old table left by the original owner (wicker with a snowflake woven into the centre) why not have a snowy early breakfast for two before Les Gets comes to life? The dining table can expand to seat 12 and is elegantly set each evening with fine china and candles. Dinner is served at 7.30 pm or by arrangement. The chef will leave you with the cheesboard around 9.30pm - the night is your own in Chalet Perdu. Read more

350 square metres of living space and 5 members of staff. Just past the small local chapel lies the magical 17th century Ferme de Moudon. Sleeping up to ten guests in ensuite twin and double bedrooms, this is an intensely private and discreet location, yet it is only a three minute chauffeured drive from the centre of the village. Its chocolate-box exterior belies a chic and contemporary interior: a finalist in the Design and Decoration Awards 2005 and featured in Channel 4's ground breaking series 'Grand Designs Abroad'. Ancient timbers blend effortlessly with the likes of Christian Liaigre, Kohler, Poliform and Andrew Martin; old sitting with new in this exclusive home. Set in its own private grounds, Ferme de Moudon is blessed with fabulous uninterrupted views. From the south-facing windows, gaze out across the valley at the pistes, powder fields and snow clad trees. Sporting a sauna, massage room and outdoor hot tub, it also features two large living areas, one with a giant plasma TV and digital satellite channels. The impressive kitchen is open-plan and you can watch the chef prepare his masterpieces with a drink before dinner. There is also a study with telephone, fax and wireless broadband network, allowing you to keep in touch whilst away. During peak periods, Ferme de Moudon offers a complementary au pair, making it ideal for family groups. Naturally there are heated boot racks for a nice warm start, a well-stocked wine cellar, and a dedicated team of staff to ensure that La Ferme de Moudon offers all you could possibly need. The Ferme de Moudon is one of the most stunning chalets: The Sunday Times. A 17th century Savoyard farm building transformed into an icon of contemporary design by Nicky Dobree. Beyond perfect: Victoria Mather. The interior is like something from a James Bond set: Kevin McCloud, Grand Designs Abroad. • Johmarons2
This delightful semi-detached chalet shares a building with Chalet Ysopes and has large picture windows from the lounges looking down a slope to fabulous views of the piste. The chalets share a covered terrace with a jacuzzi hot-tub, where all the aches of a hard days skiing can be relaxed away. The interior of the chalet is modern and stylish, with attractive use of light pine panelling throughout. The furnishings are tasteful and understated with plenty of small touches to enhance the charming overall ambience. One of the quirkier features is bathroom doors only 1.7m high, so taller guests will need to duck! Assuming both are empty at the time of booking, these two chalets can also be booked by one larger group of up to 21, and the dining-room would then be in the Ysopes (pronounced Ee-sopp, as in Aesops Fables!) and the living area in the Johmarons. Please note that children under 13 years of age are not accepted into shared chalets outside of peak weeks (Christmas, New Year, Half Term and Easter) unless the party books the chalet for sole occupancy. FAMILY CHALET ONLY - can only be booked by parties that include children under 13 years of age. This is one of four apartment chalets in La Chaumiere. La Chaumiere is an attractive, classically Savoyarde building, previously run as a hotel by three generations of the Monnet family, but now converted into comfortable chalet apartments. Each is staffed and run individually, but shares child care rooms, sauna and ski storage. There are stylish, comfortable interiors, with open-plan living/dining areas, a fireplace in each chalet and comfortable family bedrooms with plenty of bath and shower rooms. In a quiet cul-de-sac just off the village centre, the location is ideal for families. There is a footpath to the Mont Chery lift avoiding the village centre altogether, and from there you can also catch the resort?s mini-train shuttle to the Chavannes lift across the village.
