Chalet Trois Ours is a fabulous new build located bang on the slopes of Meribel, below the Rond Point, and opposite the Adret chairlift. It's a 2 minute walk to Le Plateau where there are a few specialist shops and one of the best restaurants in Meribel - Le Cro Magnon. Here you can also take the short 7 minute bus ride into the centre of Meribel. There is no doubt that it is one of the best located chalets in Meribel if you are looking for a 'ski in-ski out' position. This newly but traditionally decorated chalet has that true alpine feel, it comfortably sleeps 10 people in 5 double bedrooms (all en-suite). All rooms have big, plush comfortable beds and an en-suite bathroom stocked with a full range of Hermes bath products. An additional bunk room for a further two guests is available upon request. Enjoy the great views from the large balcony off the spacious living area, have a soak in the outside Jacuzzi or enjoy a film in the cinema room. For those that haven't tired themselves out on the slopes, there's the gym downstairs and also a steam room in which to relax aching muscles afterwards. The chalet is laid out on 4 floors with 4 of the gorgeous bedrooms, on the top floor. The ground floor holds the large open plan dining area and living room with a large stone fireplace and luxurious sofas you can sink into. As you continue downstairs you get to the heated boot room which leads out to the Jacuzzi on the balcony and also to the piste. This is an easy blue run that leads down to the main lift hub at Chaudanne. There is also another bedroom with en-suite facilities on this floor. Down one more floor and there's the cinema room with large and comfortable sofas, and onwards is the gym room with adjacent steam room and shower room. Hearty breakfast and afternoon tea are served daily. Champagnes with canapes and a four course dinner with fine wines (chosen to match the menu) are served 6 nights a week. All food is prepared by your own fully qualified chef. A Mid-week towel change is also included. The staff are there to reduce your hassle on holiday so you can truly relax and maximise your time on the slopes. They can organise your transfers, ski passes, ski hire, ski lessons, childcare and apres ski activities before your arrival so that you can switch in to holiday mode the moment you arrive. The chalet, newly built in 2007 is named after the owner's mother who won the World Cup in 1969. The chalet holds her World Cup trophy along with other Olympic and World Cup memorabilia and photographs. It offers a mix of modern and traditional style over four floors with fabulous views over Rendl from every room. There are eight comfortable bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities and a lovely welcoming living area with deep sofas just inviting you to sit back and relax and enjoy the view through the vast picture windows. There is even the benefit of an open fireplace (rather rare in St Anton) providing a perfect focal point to relax before dinner with your apertif and canapes. A further highlight is the Wellness area with a sauna and an outdoor hot tub on the terrace, what better way to unwind after a great day on the slopes? Situated in the quiet Stadl area near, the chalet is conveniently located about 10 minutes walk down to the resort centre, lifts and slopes. To make life easier for you, guests can leave their ski equipment at one of the rental shop in the resort centre close to the Galzig lift (free if rented, otherwise small daily charge), the ski bus also stops very close by if you don't fancy the walk back to the chalet. The chalet is fantastic for friends, families or groups and is available to book by individuals as well as groups of 14 to 16 wanting sole occupancy, with the added advantage of single rooms if required. The chalet is situated about half way between the main Gotchna lift and the Madrisa lift. It is close to shuttle bus stop and walking distance to town centre - about 10 minutes. A recently opened bypass has cleared Klosters of through-traffic and there are lots of excellent restaurants close by, including one with 2 Michelin Stars. This a very private, cosy chalet surrounded by meadows and large trees with lovely views from all rooms and parking for several cars. Quiet and in a very charming setting and in easy reach of town, restaurants and ski lifts. The cosy chalet has been sympathetically modernized up to the latest standards while maintaining its delightful charm. The entrance hall leads to a very large drawing room with dining area and two sitting areas, partly open to a high ceiling and all paneled with old wood. There is a large open fireplace, satellite TV and a south facing terrace/balcony. The living area leads through to a well equipped kitchen. On the same floor is a double bedroom with shower, two single bedrooms, a bathroom and a second separate wc. All rooms are decorated with lots of old wood, one with a charming built-in four poster bed. Upstairs is a self-contained large room with king size bed and sitting area, with satellite TV and a large bathroom, plus a single bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Downstairs, at garden level, is a self-contained very large newly decorated double room with king size bed, satellite TV and direct access to the garden, with a large bathroom and separate sauna/steam shower. On the same level is also a small gym and separate staff flat. There is a 5% discount on the price if you do not have the 5 dinners. However, breakfast and daily cleaning would still be provided. Le Vieux Cret has possibly become Val d'Isere's most 'des res' chalet for 8 - 10 guests this winter. The chalet hasn't changed. It is still one of Val d'Isere's only genuinely old buildings, being part of the 1620s farmhouse which also contains our Maison du Rocher. Its walls are as thick as ever, its granite roof as heavy, though you probably won't see that under a metre or so of snow. The huge, high-ceilinged sitting room is still wonderfully comfortable, with its log fire, multi-channel surround-sound satellite TV, DVDs, Wi-Fi etc. There is a separate dining room, and a mezzanine where ninth and tenth guests can stay half-price. The four bedrooms are small but smart, with good cupboards and lots of lighting. Two are doubles and two twins which can be made into doubles (please specify when booking). Bedroom 4 is on the ground floor, as are the chef's cell and a sauna. Mercifully few of our guests use the sauna properly, rolling naked in the deep snow of our private garden, whipping each other with birch twigs, but quite a few find it a pleasant remedy for post-dramatic-stretch-disorder. Le Vieux Cret is in a brilliant position, in that collection of lovely wood-and-stone chalets just on the left as one reaches Val d'Isere proper from La Daille. The hamlet is called Le Cret - the Ridge - and is considered The Boltons of Val d'Isere (not to be confused with the Bolton). Le Vieux Cret is at the sunny front, and although its garden wall overhangs the road 50m away and 10m below, there is seldom a sound. There is a steepish little path to the road, with bus stops to the Funival and village centre a further 100m or so. If you chose to walk, either would take ten minutes. But that is what has changed. It seems that to twenty-first century Vieux Cret guests public transport is unpalatable, walking unthinkable and a snowy path non-negotiable! So there is now a shiny Land Rover to ferry guests from this chalet and La Maison du Rocher next door to and from any point they choose in Val d'Isere from 8.30am - 10am, and 3.30pm - 8pm. The loveliest old chalet in Val d'Isere is now just a few paces from all of its lifts. Carmen is a superbly situated duplex attic apartment in a chalet which is perched on a hilltop. Access is very convenient via a tunnel lift which is 200 metres away from the Matterhorn Express base station and resort ski run, thus making this one of the few chalets that are genuinely situated close to a lift and home piste. This is about as close as Zermatt gets to offering ski-in ski-out convenience. The church square with its boutiques and restaurants is just five minutes away in the other direction. Chalet Bear is one of the last remaining log chalets remaining in Klosters. Lovingly restored in 2005 it now provides every modern convenience within its traditional Swiss Alpine chalet structure and offers 285 square metres of living space. Chalet Bear is within walking distance of the lifts and centre of the village. It is situated up a little rise providing sensational views across the valley. It has four floors and sleeps up to eight guests in four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. All the rooms have been beautifully and sympathetically decorated to provide a sumptuous environment, fully in keeping with the warm character of this exceptional Alpine home. On the ground floor is a large dining room, with a new kitchen conveniently located at one end. There is a long table here, which comfortably seats 16 in front of a large open fireplace. It's a delightful environment for either long social dinners or easy family suppers. The utility rooms, including a guests' loo, are situated to the right of the staircase. To the left of the staircase is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom. This floor has been designed for full wheelchair access. The main entrance to the chalet accesses the first floor. An entry lobby accommodates ski gear. To the right is a terrace, running the whole width of the house. The first floor is centred round the main sitting room with its large, open, wood-burning fireplace. It is classically and very comfortably furnished providing a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere. Views from all sides are superb. Adjoining it is a fully equipped TV/audio/study room, which can also be used as an extension to the sitting room area when entertaining. There is also a small bar room with sink, dishwasher, fridge and glass storage. There are two bedrooms on the second floor, each with its own bathroom, one en-suite. Views and atmosphere in both rooms are exceptional. Both rooms are wood panelled. State of the art bathrooms have under-floor heating and large baths. The top floor comprises a large en-suite, double bedroom and a bath/shower room. Exposed beam ceilings and an open fire give the room a very special atmosphere. Chalet Bear is one of the most exceptional properties in Klosters, painstakingly restored and equipped by its English owner over the summer of 2006. It is pristine and will be appreciated by those looking for a cosy, high quality, and sensitively designed, private family home. This is not a typical holiday let.
