  • Rissiou1

    Rissiou

    Vaujany
    France
    Sleeps:
    40 - 46
The Hotel Rissiou with its two 'chimneys' rating in the well-known French accommodation bible, 'Logis de France', has lead many a returning guest to ponder the conversion rate between French chimneys and British stars. As you dine in its Alpine-style restaurant with photos of the building as the centre of village life in the 19th century adorning the walls, you too may reflect upon whether the chimney awarders actually spent the night. For arguably the somewhat rustic and well-loved surroundings are more than made up for by the outstanding food, the welcome you'll receive and the five-star service that accompanies it. The Rissiou is all about feeling you are in the French Alps. Staffed and managed by a UK team, it has become a firm favourite with many guests who return year after year to enjoy its inviting and nostalgic ambience. Indeed, there are several excellent reasons to choose the hotel for your ski holiday: the large sun terrace is a great place for magnificent sunsets, the warm and friendly atmosphere means it's easy to meet other guests, its sauna in which to relax those aching limbs, the TV room and games room which provide ample distraction for children, the services of our ski leaders are included and you are a short walk from the lift station! Rissiou style... The toughest choice you'll face each morning is whether having the daily breakfast special will mean there's no room for the freshly baked baguettes, eggs, croissants and cereals of a traditional Rissiou breakfast. Why not join our friendly and ski guides for the day? They will ski around the hill, down the best runs and to some great restaurants. Most Rissiou rooms have south facing balconies which are perfect for apres ski relaxation. If you still have the energy we can drive you to the Vaujany swimming and gym complex - kids will love the slide! After the children have been served their supper it's time for you to be transported on a culinary journey - 4 or 5 courses of fusion cooking - French and Antipodean is often the norm. The Rissiou prides itself on its extensive list of French wines. Read more
