Les Menuires resort guide - a general overview
Ski holidays in Les Menuires offer some of the best prices for slope side accommodation in the Three Valleys but the resort is generally regarded as one of the ugliest in the Alps. However, the newer outposts of Reberty and Les Bruyeres are considerably better and feature in many UK operators programmes. With the Trois Vallees on your door step there is ample skiing for everyone and no real need for beginners to venture beyond the local area. For experts La Masse has some of the steepest and quietest pistes in the Trois Vallees and for intermediates Meribel can be accessed by no less than five different peaks on the ridge. The resort has very little to do off the slopes with a limited apres ski scene but a surprising selection of good restaurants.

- A few excellent mountain restaurants
Cons

- Lower slopes get dangerously crowded and are over exposed to the sun
- Not much to do off the slopes
- A lot of the bars lack any atmopshere and have a real British feel
Restaurants
Les Menuires Resort Restaurants
In Reberty the piste side Ferme is very popular for its food, atmosphere and good-value meals should you want a night away from your ski chalet. Les Menuires also has The K (Hotel Kaya) which is a fabulous gourmet option. Other excellent options include the Trattoria and the Perdrix Blanche for pizza and the friendly Couchette and hugely popular Vieux Grenier in Les Bruyeres.
Les Menuires Mountain Restaurants
There are some excellent mountain restaurants which you can explore as an alternative to your ski chalet. Les Menuires' current favourite is the Grand Lac - a big chalet in a fine spot at the bottom of the Granges chair, half way to St-Martin which offers huge portions, great value and friendly service. There are also plenty of piste-side places which are hugely popular on the upper fringes of the village.
Les Menuires Apres Ski
Chouette at Les Bruyeres is a particular favourite for close-of-play beers before returning to your ski chalet. Les Menuires also has plenty to offer in terms of Apres ski in some of its smaller resorts - The Medz'ery at Preyerand is extremely friendly and later on does after dinner cabaret which is enjoyed by many.
Les Menuires Nightlife
The Chouette at Les Bruyeres is a good place to go for apres-ski beers or vin-chaud and sometimes has live music. Alternatively you could just go for a drink at one of the chalets. Les Menuires is not renowned for nightlife so you need to seek it out.
