Ski chalets Saas Fee & hotels Saas Fee Switzerland
High altitude, car free and with much charm and atmosphere - a great resort for intermediates
Chalets Saas Fee, hotels Saas Fee, ski holidays Saas Fee
Saas Fee is a charming Swiss village in the Valais area. It is high at 1,800m and surrounded by stunning mountains. The village is picturesque and traffic free, apart from horse-drawn sleighs and small electric vehicles. There are a variety of bars, restaurants and shops in the town. There is good skiing for all standards of skier including excellent lower slopes for beginners.
Saas Fee really is like a miniature Zermatt with the town and the ski area being a bit smaller although it is a bit easier for families with the beginners' slopes in the centre of the resort and the prices are a bit more reasonable. It is a great spot for Easter with the high altitude skiing and ideal for families, but the overall ski area is fairly small for more adventurous skiers.

Resort Restaurants
Gastronomes will head for the expensive but delicious Fletschorn. The woody Bodmen also has great food and big menu. Don Ciccios is very child friendly and does great pizzas and veal. The Alp Hitta is also worth a try for its rustic charm.
Mountain Restaurants
There are many restaurants found at all the main lift stations which are all rather functional. If you are looking for something a little more special and are willing to trek for about 15 minutes each way then the Britanniahutte is well worth it, not just for its great food but for its superb setting, great views and excellent atmosphere. Just down from the Plattjen is the restaurant Berghaus Plattjen which has had good reviews also the Gletschergrotte, halfway down from the Spielboden is recommended. For good value head to the 'giant' Morenia.
Apres Ski
If the sun is shining then any of the snow-bars near the lifts are good and can be quite lively. The in place to be is the Black Bull. Other good apres ski bars include the Pic Pic, the Alpen Pub and Feeloch. The Poison and the Popcorn attracts a good crowd. The Happy Bar's happy hour is a popular hang out. Finally a little gem well worth visiting is the Fee Igloo bar. Small and tucked out of the way, it's found by skirting around the Tea Room and down the covered steps. There you'll be greeted by the best burgers in town cooking on the barbeque. The impromptu open mike live music nights (every Wednesday, but could happen any night) go on from apres well into the night.
Nightlife
The Metropol Hotel is lively later on with its disco, as is Posion nighclub.

| B | Cesar Sport Alpin | Up to 45% | AlpineAnswers |
The star rating for the ski hire shops is an indication of the level of service; quality and variety of stock, and the space and decor of the shop. It is also a reflection on the price. A five star rated shop will offer great service and equipment but also will charge the highest price. Ski hire shops with a two star rating have less variety and older, poorer quality of stock but are cheapest.
