Linked into the impressive Les Arcs ski area, Plan Peisey (which is confusingly sometimes called Peisey Vallandry) and neighbouring Vallandry are situated very close to the new Vanoise Express cable car that links to Montchavin of the La Plagne ski area, thereby creating the world's third largest linked ski circuit - The Paradiski area with 425 kms of piste!

Up to a few years ago Plan Peisey / Vallandry were located Western extremes of the Les Arcs ski area. Now the small resort of Plan Peisey finds itself at the hub of the huge ski domain that combines Les Arcs with La Plagne.

The buildings of Plan Peisey are constructed in typical Savoyarde style, using local stone and timber making it more attractive than most purpose built resorts. Although there is a reasonable array of amenities including shops, bars, restaurants, a cinema, bank and creche the nightlife atmosphere remains pretty quiet. Perfect for families and those that would rather concentrate on the skiing than the partying.

Resort Restaurants

Brasserie Maxima, the Vache and rustic Solan are all worth visiting. However, the Ancolie in the neighbouring village of Nancroix (not on the ski domain but a short bus ride from Peisey) really should not be missed. Great views, wonderful atmosphere and fine local cuisine are the norm at this charming auberge.

Mountain Restaurants

Like most large puropse built resorts, there is plenty of choice, though the mountain resaurants in Les Arcs can be quite unremarkable but are fine for a quick spot of lunch on the go and most have great views over the valley from their terraces. If you are after something a bit more flavoursome and charming, then it is best to head towards the lower villages. On the Vallandry side, a short taxi ride will bring you to the Ancolie, a traditional auberge with fantastic food, you will need to book ahead as it is quite small, or towards Le Pre, try the Belliou La Fumee at Pre-St-Esprit, The Ferme or the Aiguille Rouge are all friendly with very good food.

Apres Ski

The Flying Squirrel is a British owned and managed bar in Plan Peisey (linked by shuttle bus service)

Nightlife

It all centres around Jimmy's Bar.
