Klosters is a comfortable, quiet, picturesque village with a very upmarket image. Klosters hotels tend to be beautiful, traditional and upmarket. The area provides a wide variety of skiing and plenty of off-piste terrain for experts. Intermediates are well catered for with plenty of excellent cruising runs in all five ski areas. There are some nursery slopes for beginners. Cross country trails are in abundance. One charming feature is the train which winds through the region and the many wonderful Klosters hotels are located close to the station. Enjoy a morning's skiing through trees to one of the hamlets in the valley and enjoy the wonderful mountain restaurants before taking the train back. There are a few good places for some apres ski and several good restaurants and bars. There is plenty to do off the slopes with a good sport and leisure centre with an ice rink and plenty of shopping. The hotel (Klosters has many) scene is very smart and there are also a handful of chalets. Klosters is famous for visits from the Royal family, and the resort has even named a cable car after the Prince of Wales!

Resort Restaurants

There are plenty of great restaurants in Klosters, but there are few cheap and cheerful ones. One of the most popular restaurants is in a hotel. Klosters Hotel Walserhof has a Michelin star and some very fine cuisine is produced. For Asian cuisine go to the Rustico hotel (Klosters has a few restaurants located in hotels). For pizza try Al Berto, Casanna serves great steaks and Fellini pizzeria is child friendly.

Mountain Restaurants

There are a number of atmospheric huts to have lunch in the woods above the village. The Erika at Schlappin is a very good choice. It is a recommendation to book a table as places do get busy. You should be able to get the staff to do this for you in your hotel or chalets. Klosters' mountain restaurants should definitely be tried and tested!

Apres Ski

For a touch of apres ski before heading back to your Klosters chalet or hotel then head to the Gotschnabar, which is located next to the cable car station, has proven to be a great venue, and in the village you will find live music at the Chesa Grischuna. If there is a sports game not to be missed on TV, then head to the Rossli bar.

Nightlife

For late night dancing the Casa Antica is a small disco that livens up, especially on a Saturday night. There is a piano bar in the Silvretta Park Hotel, Klosters' visitors head here for a tasteful evening.

The star rating for the ski hire shops is an indication of the level of service; quality and variety of stock, and the space and decor of the shop. It is also a reflection on the price. A five star rated shop will offer great service and equipment but also will charge the highest price. Ski hire shops with a two star rating have less variety and older, poorer quality of stock but are cheapest.
