Courchevel 1300 or Le Praz, as its known by the locals, is a traditional rural village set amid woodland, which although attractive has lost a little of its charm after the expansion triggered by the 1992 Winter Olympics. It remains quiet, pleasant and a good base for families with children who don't mind a short walk (5 minutes) to the lifts, as the chalet and hotel accommodation is set away from its two gondolas. The links to 1850 are generally very efficient. However, skiers can take advantage of the resort's free connecting bus service to Courchevel 1850. The runs to resort are tree lined and perfect for bad weather days although beginners will need to take the lifts back to the village as the pistes are graded black and red and are sometimes prone to poor snow conditions (beginning and end of the season). For gastronomic connoisseurs lunch or dinner at the Bistrot du Praz is highly recommended and reputed to be one of the best eateries in the entire three valleys, famed for its "foie gras chaud".

Resort Restaurants
For 'foodies' try the excellent Bistrot du Praz, it's a little expensive but worth it! For local cuisine head to La Cave d'a Cote or Azimut. The restaurant in hotel Peupliers offers good value tasty meals.
Mountain Restaurants
Within the Three Valleys there are plenty of mountain restaurants to indulge in. If you're looking for something close to Le Praz then the best restaurant to visit would be at Praz-Juget. Reach this by taking the Foret lift up and skiing down the blue run; Arolles. From here you can also take the Dou des Lanches chairlift to get to the top the Col de la Loze.
Apres Ski
Apres ski is limited in Courchevel Le Praz, but there are still about 5 bars to try. The recommendation would be L'Escorch-vel bar is 'a good, lively place'.
Nightlife
There isn't much nightlife in Le Praz, but L'Escorch-vel stays open until about 2am (over the weekend anyways!).

Ski Hire Shops
| Location | Name | Stars | Discount | Promo Code |
| A | Ski Higher | 20% | Alpine Answers |
The star rating for the ski hire shops is an indication of the level of service; quality and variety of stock, and the space and decor of the shop. It is also a reflection on the price. A five star rated shop will offer great service and equipment but also will charge the highest price. Ski hire shops with a two star rating have less variety and older, poorer quality of stock but are cheapest.
