Set off the quiet road leading through La Villette, its size makes Rostaing a great catered chalet for larger groups. The building, an old alpine farmhouse, has been meticulously restored and now oozes character and charm with an abundance of wood and grey mountain stone. Your holiday in Chalet Rostaing will be fully catered by a live-out chalet chef and host.

As part of your stay in Rostaing, you'll also be provided with lifts to Vaujany, its shops, swimming pool, lift station or to the restaurant of your choice on the chalet night off. Staying in La Villette is quite a special experience - few hamlets retain such history, traditions and charm whilst being only three minutes from a modern ski resort.

Luxury Rostaing style...

Replace the alarm with the cockerel next door as it calls you to your freshly prepared breakfast of croissants, baguettes, cereals and eggs - everything you need to see you through until lunch on the hill. When ready help your Rep load your skis into your private shuttle and ride the three minutes down to Vaujany and its 160 man telepherique. After dropping the children with ski school, it's time to experience the joys of a virtually queue-free resort. Be whisked up to 2,800m in no time, before connecting to Peak Blanc (3,300m) from where 250 kms of fantastic pistes open up below you! Sat Nav not working? Choose to join our excellent team of Reps and let them guide you down the best runs and through the best mountain restaurants. When you're done for the day the choice is yours - ski back to La Villette or down to Vaujany for the shuttle back home to freshly baked cake or biscuits every afternoon. Relax while your kids play outside in the deep snow of Rostaing's enclosed garden or have them driven to the excellent gym and pool in Vaujany. Pre dinner - hardest choice: which log fire to kick back in front off with your aperitif as the children are served their supper? Dinner in Rostaing is special: dine in the beautifully converted ex-milk parlour on 4 or 5 courses to the accompaniment of candles, French wines and the glow of the wood fire.

The Rostaing is a very comfortable chalet. It does feel a little "new build" and lacks a little cosy appeal as a result. Dinners downstairs in the vaulted dining room were an event (delicious food) but the room could have done with being a bit warmer - both visually and physically. La Villette where the chalet is situated is a delightful hamlet and it felt very traditional - chickens in the road etc. The minibus service making the short drive to the lifts in the morning was pretty easy to deal with.

Staff were very friendly and helpful with a nothing is too much trouble attitude. This was a last minute booking but from the booking arrangements onwards the whole trip turned out to be a highly enjoyable and one exceeding expectations. The chalet was very comfortable with very good hosts and excellent food and transport arrangements available. I used Alpine Answers as options / availability were severely limited due to the late booking but the AA website was user friendly and the initial phone enquiry / contact made was met with a very helpful sales person.

The star rating for the ski hire shops is an indication of the level of service; quality and variety of stock, and the space and decor of the shop. It is also a reflection on the price. A five star rated shop will offer great service and equipment but also will charge the highest price. Ski hire shops with a two star rating have less variety and older, poorer quality of stock but are cheapest.

All prices and availability are subject to change by the tour operator. Therefore the price of your holiday can only be confirmed at the time of booking. The indicative prices shown on this website are per person for 7 nights (based on two people to a room) and are subject to the tour operator's terms and conditions. Supplements for room, flight, air security, in-flight meals, transfers, ticket on departure and other tour operator charges may apply. Please contact our team of experts for current prices. If you pay with credit card a 2% card charge will be added to your invoice. If using a debit card there is no charge.
